Resilience in Plants
I would bet that the most resilient and healthiest people in history, those who were able to sustain themselves during mass food shortages and times of war times, were very intimate with their landscape.
They knew the power of the nettles and the seaweed, the vitality in the yarrow and the daisy.
They picked pennywort on their walks and ate it right there under the sky.
I’ve been thinking lately that all the money we spend as a society on supplements and powders from other parts of the world—how much good do they really do? The plants around us are built for the environment we live in, providing us the medicine we need to also thrive in that specific area.
Certain things seem exotic and rare when they come from far off places, but I really believe deep resilience comes from eating the things that grow around you. The plant healing communication, for your body, is perfectly curated for where you find yourself.
